To Do Tracker - Monkey Business Labs

September 4th, 2005

Released by Monkey Business Labs,
this widget provides a simple and easy interface to keep non-complex lists. The handy title navigation at the top, near the nicely rendered spiral-bound top, allows easy movement from page to page.

This widget is an example a simple concept that fits well on all of our alternate desktops.

However, there are a couple of shortcomings that I would like to point out.

First, the widget does not appear to utilize OS X ubiquitous built-in spell checker. (See the mis-spelling in the screenshot) This is surely a simple over site by the programmers at Monkey Labs, and could be added in a future release without too much trouble.

Second, some type of resize option would be nice. Finally, a simple interface on the “back” of the widget to add/modify/delete pages and titles would be useful.

Overall, I rate this widget as very useful and well behaved.

The cute “donationware” money that pops out of the side to solicit donations is well done and non-obtrusive.

A-

Pros: Simple, pleasing to look at, very useful
Cons: No built-in spell checking, no resize option
