Web 2.0 and New Media
For the past few months, I have been contributing to a project called Micro Media Corp. Richard MacManus from Read/Write Web is a well-respected blogger who covers a wide range of emerging technology topics and The Rights Marketing Company co-run this corporate blogging project.
Richard and my other teammates (Scott Karp, Taewoo Danny Kim, David Stoughton, Steve O’Hear, Stephen Danelutti and Rudy De Waele) contribute 3 blog bulletins weekly and cover a wide range of interesting topics. Micro Media also produces related podcasts (…which I’ve not had the pleasure to join in on as of yet…..).
It has been a great deal of challenging fun to keep up with these guys on some of the hottest topics on the web today. I try to work hard building my writing skills and there is no better way to do so than writing about the very technology I use and love.
Thanks to Richard and his group for the opportunity.
If your organization is looking for cutting edge commentary from some folks who are “out in the trenches” both innovating and using the latest technology, contact Richard and let him know.

This Wall Street Journal On-line articles talks about how marketing companies are now using Blogs as focus groups. This data is gathered by robots and then probably sifted through by humans. Humans who get paid to read blog material, all day.

Good article about how Blogs have increased their reach over the past few years. Also includes some good demographical information of who these bloggers are and a Top 5 list of the most read blogs. I’ve read Slashdot for years, way before the term WebLog or Blog even existed, and if they consider that a blog…is it the first one?
By the way, for those of you who care, I keep a list of recently browsed interesting sites. (RSS Feed available) Anyway, I save links there that I find interesting through the day. It’s a running, unorganized listing of sites I might want to reference in the future.
