This conservative newspaper has blasted the Bush administration for “aloofness” regarding the federal response in the aftermath.
These right-wing religious nuts say that “…God destroyed a wicked city”.? Curious, is this the same God which President Bush believes in?
Fats Domino is missing.?
Evidently, the 77 year-old R&B legend decided to stay at this New
Orleans house to ride out the storm.? No one has heard from him
since Sunday.? I think the total number will rise to thousands, if
not tens of thousands, before all is said and done.
Which begs the question.? Did this have to occur this way?? It seems President Bush even cut his vacation short by two days.
Another question.? Do white people “find”, and black people “loot”?? Yahoo seems to think so.
The liberal and progressive blogs everywhere are starting to run pieces
holding the Bush administration responsible for slow and inadequate
response to this disaster.? However, I am not ready to jump on
that bandwagon just yet.?
The next few days and weeks will reveal
what happened and what realistically could have been prevented.?
With that said, this whole situation does seem eerily reminiscent? of
how the Bush administration ignored warning signs about 9/11.?
There WERE warnings about this possibly happening.? Who was in
charge of planning, both for the prevention of this kind of catastrophic
result and for the response afterwards?
Wouldn’t it have made more sense to have a convey of buses help take
the poor and disabled out BEFORE Katrina hit the city??
In the end, there is only so much that can be done to prepare for such
a contingency.? However, was everything feasible truly done?
