Where are we going?
While their leader takes another break from his so-called reality, the
Roveites all revel in their attempts to back up their leader with lies
and misdirection.? One of Karl Rove’s most voracious mantra’s is
to turn one’s energy against them.? Throw so much shit at the
wall, that some is bound to stick.? This is a man who is being
investigated for giving state secrets out to the press, and an
administration that refuses to take any of the blame for the Middle
Eastern pickle that we find ourselves in these days.? How dare
Karl Rove, and his GOP minion’s, attempt to sling mud at Ms.
Sheehan.? I believe she has sacrificed enough for her country to
have earned the right to stand up and say what she wants.? Agree
or disagree with her, she has the right to say it…and people have a
right to listen.
The day of reckoning is coming for the GOP, and Nov 2006 will be the
first wake-up call.? You have swung too far right, you have misled
this country and now you are dragging a lady who lost a son in your
immoral war through the mud.? You are the immoral ones.? You
are the hypocrites, who on one hand claim to hold the moral high
ground, yet in the other support those who obviously do not.
Our country was designed to withstand the fickleness of public
opinion, and to allow government the time and space to govern.? No
doubt that in today’s attention deficient news cycle, the fickleness
has reach a fever furor.? However, the country has given the GOP
plenty of rope, and the rope is beginning to tighten…and their
feet aren’t even close to touching the ground.]]>
I hate to tell you I told you so, but dammit… I told you so!
Not that I enjoy gloating or search for reasons to do so.?
However, sometimes, it is just appropriate.? Windows users, and
you know who you are, we (unix lovers everywhere, even Mac fans) have
been telling you over and over… you are vulnerable.
We can debate all day long about smaller server/desktop share, smaller
target, wider distribution, yadda yadda yadda.? And, I will grant
that a small percentage of exploitable vulnerabilities do in fact exist on my
preferred platform, but I will maintain that proportionally, Microsoft
Windows has far more in number, that are far greater in severity.
Microsoft continues to put out buggy and incomplete products that IT
managers everywhere can’t wait to implement.? No IT professional
has ever been fired for choosing Microsoft, they all
proclaim.? Well, that is truly a shame.? CxO’s should expect
more from their IT departments.? They should expect not to loose
email servers for hours for what amounts to a trivial bug in
Microsoft’s code.
If the software that I’ve written and deployed in my time exhibited a
major outage during peak work hours, I promise you that I would hear
from the CxO, maybe even the dreaded CFO call.? “Well, we’ve been
reviewing next year’s budget….”.? What a shame that CxO’s expect
LESS out of solutions from one of the biggest software companies in the
world,
than from a small firm down the street trying to make a living.?
That has always seemed backwards to me.? CxO’s, there are
alternatives and you should keep talking to someone until they show you
some.? Nothing is worse than having a myopic view of platforms
when making IT decisions.
Well, folks… It’s time to wake up and smell the Unix.? The “Dark
Ages” of IT have long passed, and there are alternatives that work
better and are cheaper to implement and maintain.? You don’t have
to have a guy with a beard locked in the basement, but I fully admit
that it helps.? Just as it would help with any enterprise mission
critical system.? Smart people = better systems.? Platform is
a rounding error in that equation.? However, if you want that next
level of performance and reliability, it becomes obvious what the
choice is.? (Hint: It ain’t Windows)
So, anyway.. back to what I was saying..? We told you so.. we’ve
been telling you so… and we will continue to tell you..? Running
Microsoft’s operating systems make you more vulnerable and less secure
than other alternatives.? IT professional ego’s are a funny thing
and rarely does one like being told of a better way that didn’t come
from their own lips.? However, sometimes the truth isn’t what you
first thought and technology evolves.?
What hell am I talking about?

WMD Found finally found in Iraq!
Iraqi Chemical Stash Uncovered
This site was a suspected site before the invasion, and was throughly
checked out after the U.S. arrived.? Nothing was found, until now..
This begs the question…why weren’t we watching this site more
carefully?? And, a bigger question of without our invasion, would
this site still be inactive?? Or, did our invasion actually
trigger the production of WMD’s that did not exist before?
Despite the numerous claims by the right wingnuts, there has been NO WMD’s discovered in Iraq….until now…

Bush lowers Iraqi expectations…again
Remember before the invasion, how we were told by President Bush, VP
Cheney and others, that the Iraqi oil revenue would help finance this
war.? That with foreign investment and profits from free-flowing oil, this war
would end up not costing the United States.
Over $400 BILLION dollars later, this rather rosy picture of the situation is the farthest thing from everyone’s mind.
Now, the Bush administration no longer expects
a model democracy, generous oil revenues, or economic and social
freedoms to blossom.? Remind me again why we are there??
Weapons of Mass Destruction?? Nope…
Going after the terrorist that attacked us on 9/11/2001??? No, not really…
Capture Osama Bin Laden?? Nope, not even close really…
Make Western Civilization safer?? Ask London.? No, this doesn’t seem to be working out either.
Bringing a model democracy to the middle east?? No, not so much.
So, please remind me again… Why are we there?
Finally, about those oil revenues.? If they aren’t directly going
to the Iraqi people or infrastructure, exactly WHERE are all of those
$66+ a barrel oil profits going?
Yet, with all of this going wrong.? What does our President have time to focus on?? Well, undoing science and teaching religion in our public schools, of course.? Not to mention, repeatedly getting it wrong regarding the environment.
Let’s not forget that one of President Bush’s top aides, Karl Rove, is being investigated for leaking CIA informant information.?
With all the news lately, this story has slowly been dropped from Page
1, to Page 46… However, the fact remains that their are some
very dishonest and evil people working inside the current
administration.
With everything that has been going on in the past 5 years, I believe
this will be written about in history books as one of the darkest periods
in American history.? Blatant racism against others and a rampant
rise in ignorance seems to only be getting worse and more prevalent.
However, truely my biggest fear is that some people will never see it that way.?
