Profiting from Podcasting
As I said about the Apple iTunes Music Store, people will pay for
KNOWN, GOOD content.? If a radio station makes their content available via a simple method (i.e. Podcasting),
people will pay a nominal fee to listen to it ON THEIR SCHEDULE.?
Get it??
I use to cringe when I heard the whole “…500 channels” spiel.?
Consumers don’t want 500 channels to go through, hell, it’s hard enough
with only 200-300.? Consumers want 1 (one) channel, showing what
they want to watch, when they want to watch it…
and obviously, playing what they want to hear, when they want to listen
to it.? It really isn’t overly difficult to comprehend.
We will see more and more of this in the coming months and years.?
My next bold prediction?
Podcasting will change the entire landscape of programmed, network
radio.? They will have to adapt or die.? Why would I want to
bother with a radio, when the content I want to listen to is tucked
nicely away on my laptop/iPod/Shuffle?? Why would I want to bother
with Satellite radio??
Times are a changin’
