Good article over at CNET talking about the ongoing FOSS (Free, Open Source Software) revolution. With Apple announcing their low-cost PC Killer, running on a heart of FOSS (Darwin/BSD), one is left to wonder what Microsoft is thinking. “How do we crush their little heads…”, comes to my mind…
I’ve created a new Flickr Photo Share Group called Out and About in Indianapolis. This is a place where anyone can post pictures of themselves or friends when they are out on the town in Indianapolis. I will start moving some of my collection there, as well. This should be interesting. Next time you have your picture taken with a cameraphone, you never know..it could show up here! From the Rathskeller to the Slippery Noodle to anywhere in Broad Ripple. You never know!
I also now use Flickr as my main photograph repository. I will be migrating most of my collection to this site over the coming weeks. I have over 2,000 pictures to upload! Be sure to check it out and see if you’re in any of them. I’m sure many of you are…

As some of you may have noticed, I’ve been doing some testing with the blog lately. Well, I have a new toy. It is a new Sprint PCS phone with a cameraphone and bluetooth. It is the LG-PM325, and it is pretty cool. Very small, and a great battery life. However, as of now, the bluetooth only allows for pairing of phone and a headset, no syncing or Dial-up-Networking (DUN). So, even though my Apple PowerBook has bluetooth, I can’ t use iSync with this phone to sync the contacts, calendar events and notes. Kind of a bummer, but still very cool.
Anyway, I now have a way to take a picture from my cam, and directly publish it to the blog, all from my phone. Thus, you may see some cool, real-time shots flow through the blog in the future. This is done by using Flickr, which I highly recommend!

Congratulations to Bob and Phyllis for opening their new shop off of the Circle in the Bank One building. It makes getting my hair cut a whole lot more convenient. Good luck!

Good article about how Blogs have increased their reach over the past few years. Also includes some good demographical information of who these bloggers are and a Top 5 list of the most read blogs. I’ve read Slashdot for years, way before the term WebLog or Blog even existed, and if they consider that a blog…is it the first one?
By the way, for those of you who care, I keep a list of recently browsed interesting sites. (RSS Feed available) Anyway, I save links there that I find interesting through the day. It’s a running, unorganized listing of sites I might want to reference in the future.
