Content Delivery & Cable
This article talks about some of the things that have been on my mind for a while, also. After moving, I have a new cable provider…which means a new digital cable decoder box. For the record, Comcast’s boxes suck ass compared to Brighthouse/Time Warner. The guide interface is so full of ads that it is nearly non-functional. In addition, the guide only shows 1/2 hour worth of programming, with no Picture in Picture. Awful! I feel like I’ve been thrown back into the 90’s.
First thing monday, I’m calling them so they can have their boxes back. I’m switching to DishNetwork… I’ll keep basic cable and the cable modem, but certainly not these horrible boxes.
I am grateful that there are avenues, besides the local cable monopoly, to get your content. Comcast needs to get their act together, as they would be crushed by Brighthouse if they could actually compete. Hopefully, this government sanctioned monopoly of local cable franchises will not be continued much longer…
